Thursday Obsessions- RV Renovating Edition-Meet Our Motorhome's Twin!

On Sunday I was talking to my Grandma and she mentioned she was wanting to sell her motorhome. Rewind 15 or more years.  I was traveling around showing dogs with my Grandma and she decided to purchase a motorhome.  We would head to dog shows with 5 to 10 dogs at a time and having a rv made it that much more fun.

I basically grew up in this motorhome.  I spent almost every weekend at a dog show or in the motorhome.  I have memories of sitting outside eating pizza with friends, grooming dogs under the awning, and sleeping countless nights on that tiny uncomfortable sofa.

I asked my Grandma what she wanted for it and we agreed on a price.  The motorhome will be ours next year.  SO EXCITED!  There is no way we will be able to make it to Michigan before winter so we are planning on driving up in the Spring and bringing the rv to New Mexico.

The RV that we are getting is a 1994 Dutchstar.  It is a little older but I plan on renovating it.

It is weird how things happen.  Brett and I just bought our little pop up a few months ago but we've been toying with the idea of buying a small vintage rv to renovate and travel in.  I will take a 34', slide out, bathroom and full bedroom motorhome anyway :)

As soon as my Grandma sends me some interior pictures I will share them along with a few of our plans.  I did find a RV for sale online and it is basically identical so I thought I would share a few of those pictures with you.

The original photos below to the dealer in this link.  Our motorhome is identical and as soon as we get some pictures I will share them.  Until then meet our motorhome twin :)

Of course I have been researching rv renovations.  I have found a few pictures that I am obsessed with!  Let me know what ya'll think.

The first thing we are doing is tearing out the green carpet!  I love the idea of wood floors or vinyl wood floors.

NO SOURCE- If this is your picture email me at
I love the gray and white!  Also the table folds up so you can either have a table for 2 or 4.

I think we are going to paint the cabinets white.  The motorhome is kinda dark and I think the white cabinets are super chic!  I am also kinda obsessed with the mood on the ceiling!

I love how bright and cheerful this bedroom is.  The more I look at this picture the more I love the dark floor and light furniture.  I do think white bedding with be impossible to keep clean in a RV with Bloodhounds.

We are really excited to get a rv.  We are still going to keep our pop up for 4x4 trips but we are excited to start this new project :)

REVIEW-Coastal Scents Kabuki on a Stick

Everyone has an opinion on makeup brushes.  Some gals love Sigma, some swear by MAC, others use Real Techniques and I love them all. I love trying new brushes.

I ordered this brush from Coastal Scents.  I've ordered many brushes from Coastal Scents and love almost all of them.

This one I don't love.  The bristles are tightly packed but they are stiff.  This brush also has some fallout.

I would recommend using this brush with loose powders.  If you use this brush with a packed powder you will see a significant amount of fallout.  The bristles are to stiff.  This brush also does not blend powder well.

The size of the brush is awesome and it is well balanced.

*Loose bristles
*Stiff bristles

Do you own this brush?  What do you think of it?

REVIEW- Mac Pigment-Rose

When MAC released pigments in the sized to go I snagged a couple of them.  They are basically half the size and half the price.  4.5g pigments are $21 and these 2.5g pigments are $10.

Rose is such a gorgeous color!  I love the rosie/pink color with gold shimmer.  I prefer wearing this pigment wet.  I use fix+ to wet my brush and apply the pigment directly to an eyeshadow primer.  Having a primer on your lid with allow for longer wear time.

As you can see the color is more foiled and pigmented wet.  Wearing this pigment dry is also beautiful.

*Smaller packaging
*Color is easy to wear

*Messy application but that comes with all pigments

Checkout my previous pigment reviews (I will add them as they become available)

What is your favorite pigment color?  I will be reviewing blue brown and old gold this week :)

REVIEW- MAC Pigment- Melon

About a month or so ago MAC came out with a  few products in a "sized to go" collection.  Basically these products are smaller but everything is $10.  The products range from pigments, mascaras, lip glasses, and skincare.  I picked up 2 pigments.

The pigment on the left is blue brown and normal 4.5 gram bottle.  On the right is Rose in the sized to go 2.5 gram bottle.

4.5 gram bottles of pigment are $21.  The sized to go is $10.  Unless you are using your pigments for other purposes the sized to go version is the way to go.  It will take me years to use a pigment.  As far as the value goes you are getting a little over half a bottle for half the cost.

I decided to purchase Melon because of the gold and peach colors.  This pigment is beautiful!

I swatched the pigment wet and dry.  When putting pigments on dry they will still keep some shimmer and sparkle but as you can see if you use them wet the color is more intense and you get a foiled finish.

When using pigments wet I recommend spraying your brush with MAC Fix+ or eye drops.  Water works but I do think the colors are more vibrant with Fix+.

If you are interested in trying out a few MAC pigments I would totally recommend grabbing a few of the sized to go.  Seriously, these pigment is going to last me years!

The full pigment line is not offered in the sized to go but they do have vanilla, naked, kitschmas, violet, melon (shown), rose (review coming), old gold (review coming, and my all time favorite blue brown (review coming).

What is your favorite pigment?  I have been eyeing some makeup geek ones too!  I love pigments!

REVIEW- Coastal Scents-Original 88 Eyeshadow Palette- One sale for $8.88 until 5/23/2014

I received an email from Coastal Scents that this palette was on sale (along with a few others!) for $8.88 so I thought I would do a quick review as I really like this palette and that is a heck of a deal!

If you would like to order this palette click HERE

As you can see this palette is fairly large and contains 88 matte and shimmer shadows.  Some of the shadows can be a little chalky but the majority of them are pigmented and smooth.
I feel like a broken record but my camera wasn't happy focusing so sorry for the blurry swatches.

I picked out a few of the colors to show you.  You can see where the mattes are a little more chalky and dry but the shimmers are really pretty!

*Quality of shadows
*Huge mirror
*Crazy fast shipping

*Must use a primer

If you are like me and gravitate toward neutral shadows I highly recommend this palette.  It will give you a variety of shadows to choose from without spending a lot of $ on shadows you only use once or twice.

Also, I love Coastal Scents.  They are such a great company.  I've ordered products on a Friday and they were delivered on a Monday.  Normal shipping costs!  I will order from Coastal Scents as long as they keep up their excellent service, great prices and products.  I did pay for the palette with my own money and I am doing this review myself.  I just really like Coastal Scents!

This palette does retail for $18.95 but is currently on sale for $8.88!  The sale ends 5/23/2014.  Coastal Scents does run sales frequently.

Do you own this palette?  What do you think of it?

REVIEW- Elizabeth Mott Eyeshadow- Champagne

I received this shadow in my April IPSY bag.  If you are unfamiliar with IPSY, it is a monthly beauty subscription bag.  You receive 4 to 5 products every month for $10.  If you would like more info click HERE.

The color of this Elizabeth Mott shadow in Champagne is beautiful.  The company does claim this is a creaseless shadow but I had to wear a primer under it.

This shadow itself is very soft and luxurious feeling.  The pigmentation is ok and very shimmery.  Applied to the lid is does look very natural.  The shadow is not overly sparkly.

Swatching this shadow is difficult.  With the light color and soft shimmer my camera was having a focusing fit.  You can see in the swatch it gives you a soft pinky/gold color.  Very pretty.

The Elizabeth Mott single shadows come in 3 colors and retail for $12.99 each online.

*Very soft
*Natural look with a little shimmer

*Basic neutral color with shimmer
*Packaging is not sturdy.  The top broke on mine

If you received this shadow in your IPSY bag or own this shadow what do you think?  I think it is really pretty but the color isn't unique enough for me to pay $12.99 for a single shadow.

REVIEW- MAC Maleficent Lipstick- True Love's Kiss

Part of my MAC Maleficent haul was this lithe gem of a lipstick in True Love's Kiss.  This lipstick is sold out online but you may find it in select stores.  I would suggest calling your local MAC store.

I almost didn't buy this lipstick but I am glad I did.  After purchasing it I realized that all of my favorite MAC red lipsticks are matte.  This lipstick is an amplified which mean it feels amazing on the lips!

I would suggest using a lipliner.  My favorite is MAC Cherry.

*Creamy on the lips
*Doesn't dry out and get patchy
*Lasted a good 4 hours with lipliner, drinking and light morning snack
*Hint of shimmer but not super glittery.

*MAC missed a huge opportunity for cool packaging.
*Must use a lipliner
*Price.  This lipstick was $17.50

RiRi Woo and Ruby Woo are mattes but definitely the closet to True Love's Kiss color.  Viva Glam Rihanna has the same texture (frost) but has more gold in it.  I do love all 4 colors!

If you have RiRi or Ruby Woo and don't mind adding a clear gloss on top I don't think True Love's Kiss is a must have.  True Love's Kiss is not as drying on the lips.

What is your favorite red?

REVIEW- MAC Maleficent Pro Longwear Lipglass- Anthurium

I almost skipped the Maleficent collection.  I saw the products MAC released and was "eh" about it.  I am more excited for the Alluring Collection coming out next week.  Curiosity gets to me and this morning I decided to run into MAC before work.  Never a good idea......

I did pick up 2 things from this collection.  I grabbed the lipstick in True Love's Kiss (review tomorrow) and the lip glass in Anthurium.

If you love red lips quit reading this review now and run to MAC or see if it is available online.  Seriously ya'll this is my new favorite red.

Sorry for the crummy swatch.  This lip glass is so pigmented and lasts for hours!  I put on this lip glass this morning at 10:30.  During the day I didn't reapply it and around 2 I headed to the restroom. This lip glass was still as pigmented as it was around 10:30.  It was a little less shiny but the color was still there.  I.LOVE.THIS.COLOR!

I didn't use a lipliner or lipstick under it and the lasting power is amazing! My biggest dislike is this lip glass is sticky.  Considering the lasting power I can overlook that as it isn't a hold your lips together kinda sticky.  More of a "hey look at my glossy lips" kinda sticky.

*Lasts for Hours
*Easy to Apply

*Price compared to size

I do think that if you own RiRi Woo lip glass you may not need Anthurium.  They are very similar.  RiRi Woo is a little more pigmented but doesn't last as long.  Anthurium is more sticky.  Both are limited edition shades.

Like I said I love red lips!  A few drugstore lip glosses that are similar are:  Wet n Wild Megalast Red My Mind, Rimmel Show Off Big Bang (my fav all time red) and be a bombshell Hot Mess.

All of these are similar but perform a little differently.  If you own Rimmel Show Off in Big Bang you will get almost the same wear and pigmentation as the Mac.

Did you pick up anything from this collection?  What is your favorite red?

Thursday Obsessions

A few of my obsessions for the week.  What are you obsessing over?

These herringbone bulletin boards are so cute!  Check out the tutorial for the super easy instructions.

Ya'll know how much I love Mr. Kate and on her latest episode of OMG We Bought a House she added these gold leaf animals to her living room.  If you haven't checked out her youtube channel I highly recommend it!

Growing up in Michigan I am a meat and potatoes kinda girl.  These potatoes look and sound relish!

NO SOURCE- If this is your picture please email me at

I am loving this bed!  I love the layered collected look.  Also, I think we are going to start looking for an antique bed.  Excited for the search!

How cute are these?!?!?!  I am going to make a few charms.  These are adorable!  I love the ideal of being able to keep the industrial look or painting them.

Brett doesn't love these stump but I do!  I love the rustic look but painted white with studs.  I need this in my life!

I have no idea where I am going to use this color palette but I fill find a room!
