Wow I love this!! I have some old fence boards I've been saving -- this would be a great way to add some pizazz to my tiny, boring bathroom! I'll be looking for the details on how you did it!
Love that wood wall! It gives the room so much personality! Wonderful job!

It's amazing how a couple things can add texture and interest to a wall. Good job! Thanks for sharing this on Frugal Crafty Home Blog Hop!
Where can I find the wood pallets??? Love this! Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for the great comments! We love our bathroom! You can't beat free!
We found our pallets on a 4x4 trip but you don't need to use pallets. Any old weathered wooden slats (fence, pallets, etc) would work. You can often find pallets on Craigslist or ask Home Depot, Lowes, grocery stores, or any company that receives goods. Just ask the managers. Most will be willing to part with them for free. Some can charge. If they are new you can weather them with paint and other techniques.
We should have our how to post up soon. Also we(Hubby) maybe doing a blog post on how to make new wood look aged.

Mandy Jean
Could I do this in a bathroom that has a shower? Do you think the humidity would be ok for the wood?
This is a look that I like, but was I the only one to have the word "outhouse" spring to mind?
Just the kind of toilet I want to relax. Great job!
Hopping by and following your twitter, FB, IG and Pinterest.

Thanks again for all of the great comments!
Chandyra7- I would research wood sealers if you want to use this in a bathroom with humidity. This water closet has its own door and fan so we weren't as concerned. I would head over to Lowes or HD and ask some of the lumber specialists. :) With a good sealer I can't see why you couldn't do this in a bathroom :)
Anonymous- We thought "fancy outhouse" :) We appreciate modern design but its just not for us. We are more rustic and lived in.
The Quiet Mom- Thanks for the follows! Will check out your giveaway.

Lol, definitely a fancy outhouse :) I didn't mean to offend, I think it's lovely and charming, I just also thought it was funny :)
I thought I was the only one with a toilet room. It is actually handy as it is off the mudroom beside my giant laundry sink. At least now I know how to make it pretty! Thanks for sharing.
No offence taken :) We think its charming too.
Thanks again for the great comments!

This is seriously beautiful! I see a lot of pallet ideas and so far my favorites have always been on walls or the back of book cases. Great color combos!
Lovely! I yeah, free is AWESOME!
I'd love if you stopped by and shared this project at my Show & Tell link party this week. http://www.gingerlymade.com/2013/01/show-tell-7.html
love your bathroom makeover,, i've been wanting to do something like this forever.
Thanks! We love it. It was a fairly easy project. It just takes time because of all the cutting.
Take Care,
Mandy Jean
How did you attach them to the wall? I do not see nails in the picture.
Hi Paula,
We used Liquid Nails and reused the old rusted nails. This is a pretty permanent way of hanging the wood but we love it :)

What an AWESOME idea! Soo beautiful! Do you have instructions on how you did it? I live in a developing plan and there are pallets everywhere up for grabs! Did you stain them? How did you hang them...I see nails..LOL!
I am totally doing this!!
Thank you so much and it is now tagged on my pinterest board!
Thanks for all the great comments!

We did not stain our pallets. We actually found them on a 4x4 trip. New Mexico sun is brutal but it creates beautiful wood :) We used liquid nails and reused the old rusty nails just for looks and some extra support :)
Take Care,
Mandy Jean
I really love this look. Did you nail the pieces into the wall or how did you secure them? I have a rental home and do not with to damage any walls.
Hi!! We used liquid nails and secured a few boards to the wall with nails for support. If you live in a rental home I would look into putting the wood on a piece of plywood or something sturdy and maybe leaning it against the wall or using a million command stripes :) I am pretty sure if you use enough command stripes they would hold up a buick :) :)
Take Care,
Mandy Jean
Can u tell me that paint color? its beautiful!
Hi Savannah,
Actually I can't tell you the name. I found it in the Lowe's Oopsy pain section and the label is blacked out :( If I get a chance this weekend I will take it in and see if I can have a color match done. :)
Take Care!
Mandy Jean
Love love it! I'd like to do this in my bathroom that has a shower. What did you put on the wall behind the wood (that was black in the picture)?
Hi Kim,
If you are going to do this in a bathroom with moisture make sure you research wood sealers. This is just a water closet. We did not treat our wood.
Yes, we painted the wall behind the wood black. :)
I love this!! Super cute!
Great Post! It's very nice to read this info from someone that actually knows what they are talking about.
