As many know we live within 30 miles of the Las Conchas wildfires that are blazing through the Jemez Mountains. Today we took a drive to see the damage. We frequent these mountains during the summer and it breaks my heart to hear the largest fire in New Mexico history is right outside our door.

The burn line at Valles Caldera
Sorry for the crap car pics. The air quality was to bad to get out and investigate :(
I am usually a very optimistic person. With saying that I know this fire could have been and could be way worse but it never should have happened in the first place. They are still looking into the fire but it looks like it was caused by a human. Not lighting, not nature, A HUMAN! The saddest part of all is New Mexico is in the worst drought in over 100 years (according to KRQE.COM) how will these beast be stopped with no water?
